Kodak EasyShare M340 Review

The Kodak Easy Share M340 is a no non-sense compact camera that does 'what it says on the tin'. It offers decent image quality with affordable prices, it does not feature any quirky gimmicks and is generally a good all rounder. The camera looks fairly good or least to say you would not be embarrassed to get it out in public. It has 10.2 mega pixels along with 3x optical zoom and a 5x digital zoom and a fair sized LCD screen at the rear of the camera which measures at 2.7 inches.

Design:

The Kodak Easy Share has a reasonably good design it is one of the slimiest cameras within its price range so is brilliant for slipping in your pocket. The controls on the camera are ok although the one major gripe would be the fact that the zoom controls are on the back of the camera, as oppose to on the top of the camera. This made choosing the desired zoom whilst focusing on the picture some what difficult.

The LCD screen is probably the one area where the EasyShare M340 excels, it offers a massive 230,000 pixels which is great for inspecting recently taken shots. The menu systems are again ok and don't offer any special in terms of interaction, which could be considered a benefit for users who just want to get on with and shoot pictures.

Image Quality:

Again image quality is of a fairly high standard but lacked quality in certain conditions such as low light and images viewed at their full resolution looked grainy. However if you are planning to use most of your images for social networking sites etc. that require small to medium size images you may have just found yourself a great little bargain.

Pros

  • Affordable Price
  • Great LCD Screen
  • Camera can be charged by USB lead

Cons

  • Lack of optical image stabilization
  • Zoom control in awkward place
  • Images proved noisey in low light conditions
